Primary care strategies to reduce the risk of coronary heart disease

Prof Nurse. 2002 Jul;17(11):679-81.

Abstract

The prevalence of CHD in the UK is high, with many people suffering related conditions or at high risk of developing problems. Nurses in primary care are ideally placed to target patients for effective interventions to reduce the risks. This paper summarises the recommendations set out in the National Service Framework for Coronary Heart Disease to enable nurses to fulfill this role.
