Abstract

Objective: To investigate whether the dopamine receptor D2 can express or can be induced to express in HNG1210-E, a monoclonal, telomerase-immortalized, human neural progenitor cell line.

Methods: By means of RT-PCR, immuno-fluorescent staining, and fluo3 Ca2+ imaging to the expression of D2 mRNA and protein as well as the reaction to dopamine were demonstrated.

Results: HNG1210-E cells could be induced to express D2 mRNA and its proteins. The induced cells also reacted to dopamine (5 mmol.L-1), which caused rapid rising of cytoplasm Ca2+.

Conclusion: HNG1210-E cells can be induced to express D2 mRNA and functional proteins.
