Abstract
The crystal structure of copper (II) complex of 3-arylazo-4-hydroxy-1,2-naphthoquinone is reported. The in vitro antimalarial activity of analogous compounds against Plasmodium falciparum 3D7 strain reveals correlation with metal redox couple, suggesting component of parasitic electron transport chain as a possible target.
