The authors describe the endovascular management of a ruptured wide-necked basilar terminus aneurysm with stent-assisted coil technique via posterior communicating collateral vessels from the anterior cerebral circulation. A Neuroform stent was placed horizontally across the neck of the aneurysm with use of the patient's large, patent, posterior communicating artery. This approach allowed for complete endovascular treatment in the setting of acute subarachnoid hemorrhage.
