Abstract
Interleukin-17 (IL-17)-producing helper T cells play a role in pathogen defense and autoimmunity. In this issue of Immunity, van Beelen et al. (2007) reveal a pathway that elicits potent IL-17 production from memory T cells through activation of the intracellular receptor NOD2.
