[Analysis of screening questionnaires for differences in alcoholism between men and women]

Abstract

The results of the Alcohol Dependence Scale (ADS) and the Michigan Alcoholism Screening Test (MAST) obtained in a series of male and female outpatients and inpatients treated for alcoholism are analyzed. Factor analysis of ADS and MAST in men and women showed different arrangement of factors for each sex. The paper presents the results of a pilot study with a preliminary version of the original Female Alcoholism (FeA) screening.
