Pontine hemorrhagic infarction in nontraumatic fat embolism

Abstract

A 46-year-old man developed hemorrhagic pontine infarction secondary to fat embolization 6 days after surgery to repair a perforated duodenal ulcer. This case report emphasizes the clinical risk factors for fat embolization in the nontraumatic setting.
